ReciMe alternatives: which recipe app fits you
ReciMe is the default recipe-saving app for a reason: nearly 300,000 US ratings, imports from almost everywhere, and calories for every recipe. If you are looking for something else, it usually comes down to one of five reasons. Here is the app for each.
We make one of these apps. Repimame is ours, and it is the smallest name here. For most of the reasons below, a different app is the better answer, and we say which.
Rating counts were read from the US App Store on 23 September 2026. What each app does comes from its own App Store listing.
Your reason, and the app that fits it
What ReciMe does well
In its own words, ReciMe saves recipes from Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest, builds grocery lists and meal plans, and calculates calories for every recipe. It has a free version and a subscription. If nutrition numbers matter to you, it is hard to beat.
| App | US ratings | Price | Pick it if you want |
|---|---|---|---|
| ReciMe | 296,113 | Free / subscription | The widest import, plus calories and macros |
| Paprika 3 | 53,849 | $4.99 once | No subscription, and an aisle-sorted grocery list |
| Plan to Eat | 6,106 | Subscription | Serious calendar meal planning |
| Samsung Food | 6,362 | Free / paid | Android and web, plus a huge public recipe library |
| Crouton | 2,839 | Free / paid | Hands-free cooking from a mature app |
| CookBook | 2,640 | Free / paid | Scanning handwritten cards and screenshots |
| Repimame | 0 | Free for the first 100 members | Recipes from short videos, with stills beside the steps |
US prices; they change by country.
"I do not want another subscription"
Paprika 3 is $4.99, once. It is built around recipe websites, plans meals on daily, weekly or monthly calendars, and its grocery list combines ingredients and sorts them by aisle. It is not a social-video app, and does not pretend to be.
"I plan a whole week, or a whole month"
Plan to Eat is made for planners: save from any site, TikTok, Instagram or Pinterest, put recipes on a planning calendar and get a shopping list for the week. It has a 14-day trial, then a subscription.
"Half my household is on Android"
Samsung Food has Android and web apps, a free tier, and more than 240,000 public recipes you can filter by 14 diets, alongside the ones you save yourself.
"My recipes are on index cards"
CookBook scans handwritten recipe cards, cookbook pages and screenshots into editable recipes, and estimates nutrition too.
"I cook from TikTok and Reels, and I keep rewinding"
This is where ours fits. Repimame turns the video's caption into ingredients and steps and pins a still from the video beside each step the video shows, so "fold until just combined" comes with a picture of what that looks like. It also plans your week by breakfast, lunch and dinner and adds the ingredients up into one shopping list.
What it does not do: no calories or macros, no Android or web version yet, and the video stills work for TikTok and Instagram only. If a caption never says how much, we leave it blank rather than guess.
Or just stay with ReciMe
If nutrition numbers and the widest set of sources are what you use, the alternatives above are mostly sideways moves. Switching recipe apps costs you an afternoon of re-saving. Do it for a reason on this list, not for novelty.
